Derek Guille

After almost 25 years as a broadcaster with the ABC, Derek has left radio. His experience talking with musicians, politicians, visual and performing artists, opinion makers, scientists and idealists from around Australia and the world can now be put to good use by conference organisers, festival programmers and event co-ordinators.

Over the past two decades, Derek has undertaken thousands of interviews. From the world of news and current affairs, arts and culture, science and research, the list is seemingly endless. From interviews with Bryce Courtney, Elvis Costello, Sir Gus Nossal, Malcolm Fraser and Paul Keating, to interviewing David Attenborough and chairing his literary lunch, speaking with kd lang on stage after her gig in the Iwaki Auditorium, and travelling the country in 2009 broadcasting live from effected areas of the Black Saturday Bushfires, Derek’s experience is vast.

Derek has a great reputation within the music industry and is a highly regarded and a regular MC at major events from fabulous Concerts in the Bowl and festivals to more intimate, private, corporate, community events.

He also works broadly outside the music industry where he’s conducted hypothetical panels, facilitated conferences, interviewed politicians, scientists, medical researchers, authors, actors, artists, entrepreneurs, business leaders and public servants, always with curiosity, warmth and wit.
