Jules Lund could be considered the Nine Network’s on-air “go-to guy”. When there’s a program involving fun, laughter and a touch of madness, he is the first in line to host it. Having recently got married to his long-term partner, Jules was the perfect fit as host of Australia’s Perfect Couple.
Having developed a reputation of facing almost any situation with ease and enthusiasm, Lund, has amassed an enviable television credit list that has seen him appear on some of Australia’s most popular programs in recent years.
In 2008 he hosted the Australian version of the latest Japanese craze to hit the world – HOLE IN THE WALL. HOLE IN THE WALL challenges contestants to a human game of Tetris whereby they have to contort their bodies to fit through holes cut into a huge polystyrene wall.
Lund will be in his element, having honed his presenting skills on Nine’s award-winning travel program GETAWAY, for which he has been a presenter since 2004. He has also experienced some of the world’s most death-defying adventures when he co-presented THINGS TO TRY BEFORE YOU DIE alongside Gary Sweet and Livinia Nixon.
But travelling the globe and playing “G.I Jules” is only one aspect of Lund’s versatility. For the past four years, this adaptable performer has juggled his travel bug with the red rug, as the host of Nine’s high rating LOGIES RED CARPET ARRIVALS TELECAST.
Not afraid of a challenge, in 2006 he strapped on ice skates for the first time. Combining his natural exuberance and some hilarious costume choices, he skated his way to the final four on TORVILL AND DEAN’S DANCING ON ICE.
A lot of determination, vision and self-made opportunities have put Lund where he is today. By the age of 23 he had hosted his own weekly Melbourne radio show on FOX FM, travelled the globe hosting the Extreme Games for an international audience, been the subject of a six-part series on his adventures through Brazil, Malaysia, USA and Spain, and co-hosted the Channel Nine music program, SO FRESH.
Since the age of 15, a huge part of his life has been dedicated to The Reach Foundation which runs motivational and self-help programs for teenagers from all walks of life. He credits Reach with giving him the direction that put him on the path to success.
After school in 1996 Lund studied graphic design for 18 months. But his involvement with The Reach Foundation had moved him to do whatever he could to ensure that more young people would grow up with higher self-esteem. Jules left his design course and was awarded a scholarship to study hypnotherapy, but at 19 knew he needed life experience. He worked at a surf shop to save money to travel the world and began his trip at a summer camp in New York. This overseas experience started Jules Lund’s journey not just around the world, but into the media with the very successful career he has today.
He is also still involved in The Reach Foundation and has since run programs for over 100,000 teenagers.
