Kate Peck Ambassador for YGAP/AddWater

Kate Peck has joined youth charity YGAP (Y Generation Against Poverty) and AddWater as an ambassador in their partnership to provide communities in Africa with clean drinking water.

Fifteen cents from every bottle of AddWater will be donated to fund the construction of water tanks at the Ntenyo School in Rwanda.

Kate travelled to South Africa in 2010 as an ambassador for YGAP, where she rode her motorcycle over the country visiting some of YGAP’s organisational partners and a series of development projects.

“While volunteering with YGAP in Africa, I saw first-hand how access to clean water can help children turn their lives around,” she explains.

“AddWater is a simple way anyone can make a difference to the lives of 5,000 people living in Netnyo.”


Kayne Tremills Films ‘Bushwhacked!’

Kayne is currently filming the new adventure series Bushwhacked! alongside child actor Brandon Walters.

Screening on ABC3 this year, each episode sees Brandon taking Kayne of an action-packed journey through the Australian bush, teaching him indigenous rites and rituals and intriguing aspects of native wildlife along the way.

Produced by North One TV, the series is picked to be both informative and entertaining.

“The challenges that Brandon sets Kayne will not only keep them on the edge of their seats, but will also give them a giggle or two!” explains ABC TV Children’s Head of Commissioning Carla de Jong.

Congratulations to the Reach Foundation which celebrated a year of great work helping young people with adversity at their annual Christmas lunch yesterday.

Hamish and Andy welcomed close to 600 people and together with the inspiring Trish Silver and Ahn Do who shared his personal story, the event raised close to $200K.

Charli Robinson hosts It’s a Knockout, Breakfast for SEA FM

Charli Robinson and her co-hosts have been a hit with audiences over the past two weeks in Channel Ten’s “It’s a Knockout,” which screens Sunday nights at 7.30pm.

Filmed in Malaysia, the revival of the 1980’s game show brought in over a million viewers in it’s debut episode. Charli co-hosts the show alongside comedy legend HG Nelson and sports anchor Brad McEwan.

Charli has also been signed as the breakfast host for Sea FM on the Gold Coast for 2012.

Kayne Tremills to Co-Host Schools Spectacular

Kayne Tremills will co-host the Schools Spectacular this year alongside John Foreman. Schools Spectacular is the world's biggest youth variety, celebrating the artistic achievements of students from public schools across New South Wales.

Kayne will take to the stage for the live show at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 November, presenting performances from a 1000-voice choir, an 80 piece orchestra, 1800 dancers aged from 5 to 18, plus rock, jazz, brass and marching bands with featured soloists aged from 10 to 18.

A one hour version of the show will air on ABC1 on Sunday 18th December at 7pm, and an extended two and a half hour version screening can be seen on ABC2 on Saturday 31st December at 7pm.


Paul Verhoeven Ambassador for Movember

Paul Verhoeven

Paul Verhoeven is the latest Profile member to sign on as an ambassador for the annual Movember campaign. The campaign sees men growing moustaches during November to raise vital awareness and funding for men’s health issues – specifically prostate cancer and male depression.

Last Thursday Paul went in to renowned Melbourne men’s barber RockIt, which specialises in traditional barber practices, and had his Mo sculpted, groomed and waxed to support the cause.

Paul says his own experience with depression is one of the reasons that he is supporting men’s health.

“Depression is something I suffered from, and awareness is such a colossal part of fixing a problem. And because I appear to have inherited a rather overactive wookie genome, and were I to squander it on old time villainy/cowboy lookalike contests, I’d not be able to live with myself,” he explains.

The growth (who has the character of a country gentleman) even has its own twitter account, #PaulsEpicStache.

Last year the campaign raised a total of $AUS 72 million for men’s health globally, with AUS $24.6 million collected in Australia alone.
