Melbourne Theatre Company Announces Steve Vizard’s Anzac Centenary Play World Premiere

Thursday, 11 September 2014 05:45

Steve Vizards new play, The Last Man Standing, will spearhead the Melbourne Theatre Companys 2015 offering, along with three other new Australian works.

Announcing the MTC’s exciting 2015 Season, MTC Artistic Director Brett Sheahy told a packed Arts Centre that the World Premiere will be directed by former MTC Artistic Director, Roger Hodgman, and will “stand as a welcome tonic to the self-congratulatory nostalgia of the ANZAC tradition”.

Written by Steve Vizard, with music by Paul Grabowsky, The Last Man Standing will have its World Premiere on Remembrance Day 2015 (The Sumner, Southbank Theatre, Nov 6-Dec 12) and will star the inimitable Peter Carroll as a rascally Gallipoli survivor, Clarry Flint.
