Pete Curulli

Pete Curulli is a born and bred Western Australian that lives and breathes radio on Brisbane’s B105 on the 2day network, and when he walks into a room, people notice. In a word he is ‘diverse’ as one of his favourite sayings is ‘I’ll try anything once’.

Born into a modern Italian family that still practises tradition, Pete’s absorbed much of the flair, boisterousness, and culinary joys associated with this. A humorous personality balanced with humility, Pete’s an easily likeable guy that people are drawn to.

From the age of 2 he was brought up in the family’s fresh seafood atmosphere, helping to run their stores, and can prepare a seafood dish from catch, to prep, to plate.

It was at a community radio station in Perth in 2004 though, where he found his passion, creating great radio, and after winning employment with 92.9 as the Hot 30 stunt guy, chasing celebs and giving away ‘icey cold cans of coke’, the studio was set for a career chasing his dream.

A few years, a Bachelor of Commerce, and a provincial finalist berth at the ACRA’s later, Pete’s an accomplished announcer on Brisbane’s Number 1 Hit Music Station B105, and in 2009 won a ‘Personality of the Year’ award in his debut year as a Basketball Commentator for the Senior Western Australian League.

Pete’s diversified his skills along many paths including MCing, professional DJing, and Marketing consultancy, and has been a regular among leadership and speaking seminars for school children.

In Pete’s down time he keeps himself fit, plays sports, is passionate about AFL, is an experienced rifleman, and a gaming fanatic, the Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3 being his consoles of choice.
