Mel Tracina won a whole new legion of fans with her quick wit and satirical observations as the Cultural Correspondent on Network 10’s The Cheap Seats. With her popularity skyrocketing, it was announced in September 2024 that Mel is the new host of Big Brother, returning to Channel 10 in 2025. She is also a Guest Panellist on the popular quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention and a regular voice on radio, currently hosting on NOVA from 9am-2pm nationally.
After working casually at Nova 100 on the street team, she accepted her first radio job in 2014 hosting brekky on Zoo FM in Dubbo, NSW. From there, she joined 89.9 The Light in 2015 as a casual Music Announcer before eventually hosting weekday mornings. She returned to Nova in 2018 and has made her mark as a lively, informed and high spirited regular.
Mel is a multi-faceted talent. In addition to her television and radio presenting, she has also written and performed in several shows for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and co-hosted a podcast called Social JustUs, exploring her passion for social justice issues around the world. Mel is a talented MC, having hosted a variety of live music and entertainment events, most recently promoting the Barbie movie, interviewing Hollywood’s A list star Margot Robbie. She has also hosted events for Live Nation, Fed Square and Nova Red Rooms.
